| MUSINGS |

With a year of renovation behind us, we have made strides towards our goal of creating an immersive experience for you all, yet still have much to do. It's this time of year when the air is thick with warmth, the birds have nested and flown the coup and the earth humming with vegetation that we give some pause, sit back and reflect on the moments and hard work that delivered us into the humid folds of the high summer embrace.

Our new studio, showroom and shop space has only just begun it's journey into creating a theatrical presentation of uncommon goods; of course you, our visitors and guests are the audience. We thank you all for your support along the way and with great enthusiasm invite you to visit and take a piece of Hort & Pott with you.

[ July 30-Aug1 - Aug 6-8 - Aug 27-29 ]

We strive to create and bring you unique pieces for your home and garden and want nothing less than to encourage the thrill of discovery, enchantment and connection to nature. In between the gardening and crafting we would love to welcome you to come experience the new incarnation of H&P.

Warmest Regards,
Todd + Carter

" The dried vestiges of growing season lying in quiet winters stead "

Greetings to you all!

How has the new year been so far?

We miss all of you and thought we would come out of the wood work, (literally, lots of renovations going on) so to speak - to share some mid winters greetings, upcoming spring beauty and some shop updates with you .

Every year offers the promise of change, but I think many could agree that 2020 was tremendous. Amongst the big changes, we decided to embrace the growth of our small botanical business and re-locate Hort & Pott to a neighboring hamlet in Upstate New York so that we may expand.

We have spent the last three years getting to meet all of you, commune with the landscape of the Catskills and build a new natural vision within the historic walls of a charming 19th century carriage barn. It has been our home, studio, classroom and window into a world of uncommon goods and this fall we closed the doors to our shop in Oak Hill, NY.

" A glimpse of the shop through the seasons "

So whats next for Hort & Pott?

Mid to Late Spring is our goal to open the new space. We have been fastidiously re-working a historic boarding house into our idealistic workshop and showroom space.

In an effort to provide our guests with the best possible experience, it is with the utmost consideration that we have decided to start in the new space by welcoming visitors through appointments. It's important to us that you have a immersive visit and that we all maintain a respect for the grounds we have become caretakers of.

Working around a casual schedule will also provide you with a better experience and us more dedicated time in the studio and gardens so that we can grow, create and offer you a greater selection of new natural uncommon goods.

More Details to come in Spring.

'A peak at some of the changes happening on the Knoll '

How do you enjoy the long winter?

We are already dreaming of Spring here. We want to share with you botanical images that were created in 2020, hopefully you will find them uplifting and an enjoyable journey through the seasons.

A Soothing and colorful play of dried flowers from last winters Valentines Collection.

The Raucus warm tones of yellows golds and amber illuminates the path for Spring

Pinks and Greens Pave the Way

Late Summer bounty, the smell of Autumn is nascent

The spell binding tones of Fall gust swept into the shop

The glow of the holidays leaves us with a warm feeling.

As always, thank you so much, it's been a pleasure growing with you all through the seasons. We are more than excited to share our new adventures with you. This new chapter is full of promise and we are thrilled to be able to develop and expand our offerings of newly natural, uncommon botanical goods.

Stay tuned as our next newsletter will pertain to an upcoming Spring collection and more details.

Warmest Regards,
Todd + Carter

W e would like to wish everyone a happy spring. While we know that times are strange and the changes are big, we are thinking of each and everyone during these challenging times. We have been creating works in honor of the vernal season:

New woven nests, hand painted eggs and more await in our newly updated website and 2020 Spring Collection.

NOT OPENING

Due to the unfortunate circumstances with current events, we will not be opening the shop in April as planned to respect the wellbeing of all people.

We know we are not the only small business owners to feel the sad side effects of the situation; it's always been our joy to welcome all of you to the shop and have face to face conversations, but we will be working hard to improve our online shop so that we can still share a little bit more of the magic through the mail.

Thank you so much from us at Hort & Pott,

We really can't wait till the time when we get to see all of you again in this new year.

It's Getting Lush in here...

Visit us and see what's growing on!

{ Woven Grapevine }

New foraged grapevine pieces are being woven into baskets, pendant lights and more. Stay tuned to see what else is in the works.

{ Concrete }

Todd has been working on new concrete vessels, troughs and bowls hand sculpted in concrete with a variety of finishes. These guys are perfect for your little succulents or herbs (or anything else you'd want!) Come grab a planted one or or grab an empty and plant it up yourself!

{ Botanical Plaques }

We're nearly all out of our staghorn fern mounted botanical plaques but after a hearty Spring Garden and House Renovation push we're about to get back into the wood shop to fire up the saws and make another body of work.
These guys are perfect for a covered porch!

We have been working hard on new gardens and container designs this spring with some new designs in the works and the reveal of our own home's front yard makeover and grass free gravel style seating area.
Hort And Pott offers unique garden and container design as well as staging and plant scaping and are open to new projects !

Our New Container Designs at the Berkshire Botanical Gardens. They are compliments to an ongoing summer show titled 'contained exuberance' which features 10 garden designers containers alongside 10 contemporary art sculptures, a great show running through the summer, go check it out!

{ REVEALING OUR FRONT YARD }

What a spring it has been thus far in the field with some amazing projects now completed and new ones on the horizon.

One on the list was to finish the first phase of the red house gardens. As fellow gardeners know a garden is never finished but the bones are set with a sweeping pea stoned garden set in front of our home.

It's planted with perennial grasses, salix cornus and wild perennials that will all fill in nicely through the season. I'll be adding beloved tropicals and annuals over the next few weeks. I opted out of a traditional foundation garden around the porch for more stone gravel expanding our entertaining area for sunsets on the porch with friends and family.

JULY 28th

Come visit Oak Hill on it's most bustling day; there will be tons of life as the town lights up for it's annual day. Yard sales, activities and a dance party for those interested in some good ole house and disco.

We hope to see you all soon.
We're open on weekends and always available for appointments.

Thank you so much from us at Hort And Pott
